2024 Arizona Bach Festival

The 2024 Festival brings superb musicians from around the world to join with local stars in presenting the music of Bach and his contemporaries. Josefien Stoppelenburg (soprano) from the Netherlands, Magda Schwerzmann (flute) from Switzerland, Leon Schelhase (harpsichord) from Philadelphia (Curtis), Daniel Swenberg (lute) from NYC (The Juilliard School) and Scott Dettra (organ) from Dallas all join with members of the ASU faculty and local artists in four magnificent concerts.

Vocal Pedagogy Initiative 2023-2024

The Arizona Bach Festival announces its first year-long Vocal Pedagogy Initiative in a series of workshops, master classes, recitals, salon concerts, and private coaching with the renowned Dutch Soprano, Josefien Stoppelenburg. Individual vocal artists and ensembles are invited to participate in any or all of the four events of this program. In addition, private study is also available for a fee. The Melisma Course in September and Master Class in November were both successful and we look forward to the two more master classes and a salon recital at Orangewood Presbyterian Church in the Spring!
The 2023 Arizona Bach Festival was held February 26 through March 14, with concerts at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Phoenix and Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, Scottsdale. Our featured artists included organist Ken Cowan, soprano Josefien Stoppelenburg and many instrumental and vocal soloists selected from the best performers in Arizona. Our 2022 Festival featured a virtuosic organist, world class Early Music specialists, the Arizona Bach Festival Chamber Orchestra performing glorious concertos of Bach’s era, and the saxophonists of Sinta Quartet as a stunning finale. [click here to view the 2022 Festival Program]
